Stage V - Southeast Domino School, Here I go!

The next day, Hugh was nervous. Principal Lewis didn’t reply him yet. Hugh resolved to see him in his office, but in the end, he wasn’t there. He then began to think that maybe Principal Lewis went to Southeast Domino School to talk with Principal Simon; and so Hugh waited for his arrival. But a few hours later, classes would be end for the day and no sign of Principal Lewis.

- Hum excuse me young boy but are you waiting for someone? – Janitor asked, after seeing Hugh patiently waiting for Principal Lewis.   
- Yes I am, I’m waiting for Principal Lewis, and do you know where he is? – Hugh asked.
- Principal Lewis?! Oh… I’m afraid he isn’t coming back. He lost a duel against Principal Simon, the loser had to leave his school and declare that his school sucks. Poor Principal Lewis he was forced to duel or else suffer the consequences, which were much worse. – The Janitor said..
- (Oh my god, I need to do something.) - Hugh thought, desperate.

Hugh left school and looked around, seeing the time it was, Hugh took the opportunity to summon Laggia and got on his back to fly to Southeast Domino School, it was a cloudy night so no one could see them. As soon they got there, they saw Principal Simon, half drunk and half sober after winning against his rival. Laggia returned to his card and Hugh went to him and said.

- Principal Simon, can I speak with you for a second? – Hugh asked, walking towards him.
- Huh? Who are you? – Principal Simon asked.
- My name is Hugh Thompson, and I from Northeast Domino School, you need to give Principal Lewis’ job. – Hugh said, introducing himself.
- Northeast Domino School, huh? Well kid, deal is a deal and he lost, now go home because your bed time already passed. – Principal Simon replied Hugh.
- Please sir, I beg of you! – Hugh desperate began begging.
- Go away! – Principal Simon ignored Hugh.
- Duel me then. If I win, Principal Lewis gets his job and I will enter on Southeast Domino School tournament, I’ll give you the challenge that “She” wants. – Hugh said.
- So you are the one who wants to enter in my tournament. Ok then, but if I win, you will be working in this school, the boy’s bathrooms need to be clean. – Principal Simon said, demanding his deal.
- Deal. – Hugh said, agreeing.

“Duel!”

P. Simon’s Turn
Hugh: 8000 P. Simon: 8000

- I will go first; from my hand I summon Rescue Rabbit…
- ARE YOU SERIOUS!? You are really trying to defeat me with that fluff ball? – Hugh shouted.
- This fluff ball has a great effect… - P. Simon responded.
- I KNOW ITS EFFECT! Its cards like those that ruined the game… - Hugh said, more angry.
- Hey kid you are starting pissing me off, it’s my move so shut it and observe, I activate Rescue Rabbit’s effect to banish it and summon 2 Gene-Warped Warwolf and then I will activate Double Summon to summon once more. I’ll summon Flamvell Guard then I will tune these 3 monsters for Naturia Leodrake. I set 2 cards and end.
- I will ask again, are you serious? I don’t know if it’s the alcohol, but you are making this very easy. – Hugh said.
- Oh yeah? I want to see you doing better. – P. Simon said.
- Oh, I will. – Hugh affirmed.

Hugh’s Turn
Hugh: 8000 P. Simon: 8000

- Draw, first I summon Machina Gearframe and activate its effect to add Machina Fortress. Then send Red Gadget and Fortress and to summon the discarded Fortress, then I send 2 Fortress from to summon one of those Fortress then I activate Monster Reborn to summon another Fortress. I overlay my 3 Fortress to summon, Machina Ultima Dragon. Now I activate its effect to detach a Xyz material to Special Summon Machina Gearframe and make my two Gearframe monsters attack you directly and Ultima Dragon will destroy Naturia Leodrake. I set a card and I end.

P. Simon’s Turn
Hugh: 8000 P. Simon: 3400

Draw, I summon Marauding Captain and then activate its effect I summon Blackwing-Gale the Whirlwind then activate its effect to halve the attack of your dragon. Now I tune my 2 monsters for Gaia Knight, the Force of Earth. I’ll attack Ultima Dragon. So how about that? I end.

- Seriously? Ultima Dragon effect activates, when it’s destroyed I can draw 2 cards. – Hugh said.

Hugh’s Turn
Hugh: 7600 P. Simon: 3400

Draw, I activate, Call of the Haunted to bring back my Ultima Dragon then I activate Limiter Removal to double the attack of all of my machine monsters. With this, It’s all over.
(Hugh: 7600 P. Simon: 0)

- Now the deal was that Principal Lewis will get his job back and I will enter the tournament. – Hugh said.
- Fine you are in. You’ll be temporary student to this school until the tournament is all over. But be careful, “She” won’t be easy on you. – P. Simon warned about the girl.
- Oh don’t worry about me. – Hugh said, confident.
- No, I’m serious. She may be defeated in a duel, but she will still kick your ass. – P. Simon warned again, under alcohol influence.
- I got my ways to protect myself, and don’t use that language. – Hugh said.
- You are very cocky you know…You start school tomorrow but you need to be here Saturday morning for the presentation of the tournament. – P. Simon said.

So the days passed and Hugh skills were bigger. Hugh already had modified his Machina and his Evol deck; he knew it was only a matter of time to Dolkka and Laggia collide. The only problem was Hugh only had so little cards on his Extra deck so he tried to buy some cards. Luckily his new school had an awesome card shop, a good place to get the cards that he needed but before leaving his house, Hugh needed change his clothes, he always liked to wear a scarf and a white shirt with red stripes along with his clothes.

- (Hey Laggia, keep your eyes open. I’m going to school and if you see her, tell me.) – Hugh asked laggia.
- (I will.) – Laggia responded.

- In the school, Hugh entered the card shop and said. - Good morning. Hum… I’m a new student and I never saw this card shop, can you help me? – Hugh asked.
- Sure, what are you looking for? – The shop owner asked.
- Well I wanted a pack for the Extra Deck. – Hugh asked.
- (Hugh! I sense Dolkka energy nearby.) – Laggia warned Hugh about Dolkka.
- Of course. What kind of cards would you like to use on your Extra deck? – The shop owner said.
- Hugh began looking around while the shop owner was looking for the pack – (Where is she?)- Hugh thought.
- Hugh Didn’t notice the shop owner was talking to him. - Hello? Hey are you still here? - The shop owner said.
- Huh? Oh yeah, sorry I was thinking. I want 4 packs with Xyz cards. – Hugh answered.
- Xyz? Good choice. – The shop owner said.
- Thanks. – Hugh thanked, preparing to walk off the store.
- No problem. So I noticed you are new around here; are you enjoying the school so far? – The shop owner asked.
- Oh. Yes so far, so good. Hey, do you mind if I asked a question? – Hugh asked.
- Sure, anything to help. – The shop owner replied.
- Do you know where can I find this girl? – Hugh said, showing the picture that Dexter gave him.
- Oh… she goes around the school, sometimes she skips school to hang up with some friends and probably she goes dueling in underground dueling arenas. You’ll just need to wait, and she will come to you so don’t worry. No, wait I take that back, she IS something that you need to worry about. – The shop owner answered.
- Thanks. – Hugh thanked.
- It’s 4, 95$ each. – The shop owner said.
- Here; keep the change. – Hugh said.
- Thanks; have a nice day. – The shop owner said.

When leaving the card shop, Laggia sensed more and more Dolkka’s energy. Distracted opening his packs while walking, Hugh bumped into a girl.

- Hey!? Watch where you're going! – The girl shouted.
- Hum… Sorry, I was distracted. – Hugh answered, apologizing.
- …Hey… have we met before? – The girl asked, recognizing Hugh’s voice.
- Hmm… I don’t know… I’ve been bumping against people for a long time. – Hugh answered, excusing himself.
- I see… Here, take this. Maybe you will have more luck in this pack. – The girl said, giving a strange already opened pack to Hugh.
- Thanks, I think… – Hugh thanked.

Finally knowing where Dolkka was, but the problem was Anna. Did she recognized Hugh?

- (I can’t believe, she made so much destruction.) – Hugh thought.
- (We never know if a sweet rose can hurt you with its thorns.) – Laggia responded.
- (You are right. Now let’s open this packs…) – Hugh said, and after a few moments. – (Oh man, it’s only Rank 5 or higher I can’t duel with these…) – Hugh thought, but then he realized something. – (wait a minute; I still have Anna’s pack.) – Hugh thought.

 “Dear Duelist.
 If you got this letter it means that I have chosen you to be my opponent in the future for some reason or just I don’t have anything to do and I’m bored. You received a card or more than 1 card. Use it well and use it in your deck to defeat me.

-Anna” - Hugh opened the mysterious pack with 3 cards and 1 letter.

After reading the letter both Hugh and Laggia saw the cards and they were amazed with it.

- (That’s Impossible! These monsters can’t exist!) – Laggia thought, amazed.
- (Are you sure? Maybe you didn’t realize that there were more dragons and more idiots like me to use them.) – Hugh doubt Laggia.
- (I’m sure. There are only 3 Evolzars, Me, Dolkka and another dragon, I won’t give you spoilers.) – Laggia said.
- (Whatever, I’ll know sooner or later… These cards are actually good. Should I use them?) – Hugh asked.
- (Maybe, but if she gave us these cards, then it means that she knows their weakness and she may have a trap for us. And there is another problem, Evolzar Zeddoa is rank 7 monster; how will you summon it?) - Laggia thought of an idea
- (Evolsaur Darwino?) – Hugh asked.
- (You don’t like Darwino... Your build doesn’t resolve around it.) – Laggia said.

Hugh then remembered that he still had more packs to open. And as he opens the packs he got some Xyz cards and some Level manipulation cards.

- (Well I guess these cards will do.) – Laggia said.
- (Yeah but this Xyz aren’t very good on my deck. - Hugh said, being a little disappointed.
- (Maybe not now, but someday they may help for now keep the level manipulation cards.) – Laggia said.

During that day, Hugh noticed since he changed school, he had the double of the way to go to home; the only ways were by flying on Laggia back or simply catch the train.

- (Oh man, now I need to catch a train! I won’t make it at this speed.) – Hugh thought, running home.
- (Well excuse me, Mr. I’m so slow. Is not that I gave you more speed or agility.) Laggia said, mad at his excuse.
- (Oh c’mon Laggia, I’m sorry it’s I have so little time to get home.) - Hugh said, felling bad for Laggia.
- (So why not calling your dad so he can pick you up? You did warn him that you were going to change school, didn’t you?) – Laggia asked.
- (Hum… Hum… about that…It seems I didn’t tell him about me transferring to Southeast Domino School.) – Hugh said stopping for a moment to say.
- (YOU WHAT?!) – Laggia shouted.

When Hugh returned home, it was already 22:47pm; normally Hugh would home at 19:35pm. While being in front of his house Hugh tried to open the door without making any noise. When he got in, Hugh tries to sneak to his room without making any noise.

- Where have you been young man? – Hugh’s father asked, once he entered his room.
- Hum…hey dad, I was with my friends. – Hugh said, lying.
- Oh were you? I went to pick you up from school when Principal Lewis asked me what I was doing there. Of course I said that I went to pick you up. Do you want to know he told to me?! – Hugh’s father yelled.
- Hmm… I got off school earlier? – Hugh asked.
No! He told me you got transferred to Southeast Domino School. Why would you do such nonsense? – Hugh’s father asked.
- (Busted.) – Laggia said.
- (Shut up, I’m telling the truth. It’s the only way to explain this whole mess.) – Hugh said.
- Didn’t you think that something might have happened to you if you didn’t warn me? – Hugh’s father asked.
- I’m sorry dad… Look, let me tell you what happened. – Hugh said.
- I’m listening. – Hugh’s father said.
- Remember the meteor that almost hit me? Well the meteor waves released evil and these Dragons… – Hugh said. Being interrupted.
- And you keep lying to me! - Hugh’s father shouted.
- No, its true just look at this. -  Hugh said, showing Laggia’s card.
- It’s just a card game! - Hugh’s father kept shouting.
- Remember that day that I said that I went to see the fire at the school and the smell of the fire? Well this dragon asked me to help him. He needs to reunite with his brothers to stop this evil. One of these dragons was the one that appeared on the TV and almost destroyed the whole downtown, and now we need to find the last brother. And today we found out there are more than 2 Dragons to be found. But returning to what it matters; I transferred to Southeast Domino School because the one controlling the dragon that appeared on the TV is there. And now, I need to compete in the Southeast Domino School Tournament to win against her or else evil will prevail.
- Do you expect me to believe in that?! That’s it! You are grounded for 5 months no more dueling. – Hugh’s father said.
- You saw it on the TV and I can prove it to you. – Hugh said.
- How? How can I believe in something that isn’t true?! – Hugh’s father asked.
- Hugh pulled his father outside to show him that Hugh was telling the truth. - This will prove you that I’m right. Now look I don’t have a duel disk. – Hugh showed his arms and then began chanting. – “Flames from another world, create a new form, a form that will triumph, I summon Evolzar Laggia!” – Hugh chant made a large dragon with green aura appeared right in front Hugh’s father.
- Hello there! Short story is, I’m one of those who can save you all. Don’t believe me, duel your son so I can show you my strength. – Laggia said.
- Stop showing off and I won’t duel my father. – Hugh replied to Laggia.
- T-This Impossible and it can talk?! – Hugh’s father stepped back. - Hugh we have to duel, I want to see this monster in action. – He begged.
- Excuse me, but I am not a monster, I am a Legendary Creature, a dragon to be more precise. – Laggia said, felling insulted.
- I’m sorry… - Hugh’s father replied. - So what do you say, son? Just like the old’ days. – Hugh’s father said.
- I don’t see why not. – Hugh said, seeing no choice, making Laggia to fade away and return to his card.

Ryan Thompson’s Turn

- I’ll start this duel. Draw, first I will set 2 cards then I will summon Crusader of Endymion. Then I will end my turn.

Hugh’s Turn
Hugh: 8000 Ryan Thompson: 8000

- Draw, first I will summon Evoltile Najasho and activate the spell card, Evo-Force. To tribute Najasho and Special Summon an Evolsaur from my deck the Special Summoned monster is treated as if it was special summoned by the effect of an Evoltile monster.

So I Special Summon Evolsaur Cerato, and he gets 200 ATK points. Then I activate Najasho effect, when it’s tribute I can Special Summon an Evolsaur from my deck, so I’ll summon, Evolsaur Styracosaurus and I activate its effect I can special summon tow Evolsaur monster from my deck, I special summon two Evolsaurs Diplos. So I overlay my two diplos to summon! Say a warm welcome to my newest monster! Evo- Spirit Maximus!!

Next I activate Maximus effect, to detach a Xyz material to Special summon a Evolsaur and is treated as if it was special summoned by the effect of an Evoltile monster,  I’ll summon another Evolsaur Cerato. 

- I activate my traps, Dual Revenge
(Each time a Gemini is Gemini Summon: Inflict halve to its ATK to your opponent.)
and Dual Advance Summon
(Tribute 1 Gemini monster from your side of the field: Special Summon 1 Gemini Monster from your Hand)
Now I activate Dual Advance Summon’s effect, to Tribute my Crusader to Special Summon Phoenix Gearfried. – Hugh’s father replied.

- I see; I will overlay my 2 Evolsaur Cerato to summon Evolzar Laggia. Set 2 cards and end.

Ryan’s Thompson Turn
Hugh: 8000 Ryan Thompson: 8000

Not a problem. He is food for my Warrior. Draw, I summon Evocator of Chevalier.

- I activate Laggia’s effect, by detaching all it Xyz material I can negate the summon, then I chain

So with this not only I can destroy your Evocator but I destroy Phoenix Gearfried. – Hugh replied.

 Ok then, I activate Foolish Burial to send a second Phoenix Gearfried to the graveyard. And activate One Day of Peace, now we each draw 1 card and until your end turn we don’t take damage. End.

Hugh’s Turn
Hugh: 8000 Ryan Thompson: 8000

Draw, I activate Maximus’ effect to Summon 1 Evolsaur. I summon Evolsaur Vulcano and activate its effect to Special Summon Evolsaur Diplo. I will overlay Diplo and Vulcano for a new Laggia. End.

- Draw. – Hugh’s father said, showing a smile. - I activate Dark Hole.
- My second Laggia negates it. – Hugh replies.

Good, now I activate Monster reborn to bring out my Phoenix Gearfried. Next activate Supervise and equip it to my Gearfried, and then I activate Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Supervise and activate its effect. This brings my second Phoenix Gearfriend, and next I will overlay them…

A huge red galaxy portal appears in the sky making golden feathers to fall.

Hugh’s Turn

- My turn. Dra… - said Hugh, being interrupted by the radio on his house.

- “We interrupt this broadcast to inform everyone that a never seen phenomenon is about happening this night. The temperatures will fall to below zero; temperatures that were never seen before. Please stop everything you are doing and return home. Scientist advise to heat up the houses as soon as possible because there will be a snowstorm this night.”
- What?! In the middle on the summer? – Hugh said, very confused.
Well son, you heard the radio. Get inside. – Hugh’s father said, seeing there was nothing else to do.

As they walk inside to home, someone from the distance observes them.
- HQ, target has been founded. Let the evolution be destroyed. – Said the mysterious person.
- Roger that, Zeta. You are allowed to engage battle – A female voice said through a some sort of walkie-talkie.

Later that night, Hugh was having a nightmare. He saw a large tsunami hitting Northwest Domino coast. Then visions of a silent cold night, where white wolves were the only ones living beings on the streets. And for last, he saw the same vision that he had on the hospital after being hit by the meteor, the same teenager and the same dragon, but this time there was a black dragon and a white dragon, Hugh was in a sort of forest, alongside with 2 people, one of them was Dolkka’s controller.

When it happen Hugh woke, scared, sweating and his heart beat was too fast. Hugh went to see the snowstorm, as he opened the shutters and all he saw was snow when returning to bed, he noticed there was something in the streets. Something not human but animal, trying to look through the snow he couldn’t see anything but a white background, but suddenly he heard something. Multiple howls from many wolves.
- No...This can’t be true; if it is…Then Laggia will be… No I can’t believe it, I gotta figure this out. – Hugh said, making slow steps backwards, as he couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

Since his soul has fused with Laggia’s, the low temperature did not affect him. Hugh knew he couldn’t leave from the front door because his father might catch him. So he jumped through the window on his room. As he touched the ground the wolves noticed him as started to surround him and pushing him forward. It seemed like they were leading Hugh to someplace, seeing they were expecting him.

- Hugh, be careful. I have a bad feeling about this. – Laggia said.
- Tell me about it… –  Hugh said, concerned.

After a long walk, the wolves were leading Hugh to the famous Neo Domino Mountain, one of biggest mountain of Neo domino city for the tourism. The wolves stopped but the pointed him to go up. Hugh so started to up in the tour stairs. When reaching the end of the tour, Hugh started to sightseeing but he was interrupted by unknown person.

- So you came, I guess my wolves did a nice job. I will be thanking them with a nice warm soul. -  Said the teen.
- Who are you?! – Hugh asked.
- My name is Alex, one of the Hunters of Time. – He said, with a smile.
- Hunters of Time?! – Hugh asked.
- Let me finish, this weather it’s just a way to find my prey, with it I can find everyone with a warm soul, to be more specific a soul with Evolzar on its name! – Alex said.
- How do you know about the Evolzar and what do these Hunters do? – Hugh said, frightening, almost felling from the mountain.
- Isn’t it obvious? We hunt these souls to capture their powers and when all powers are drained we are able to control every dimension. – Alex said with a scary laugh.
- Why exactly do you want to control “every dimension” and who are “we”? Besides the hunter part I mean your names, etc… - Hugh asked, knowing there was more to it.
- Who are we doesn’t matter, but what does matter is that I’ll be taking care of your soul! Now, no more question and let the cards talk. – Alex said.

"Duel!"

Alex's Turn
Hugh: 8000 Alex: 8000

I will take the first turn. Draw, first I will activate the field spell, Howling Mountain
(All face-up “Ice” Beast or Warrior-type monsters gain 500 and can’t be destroyed by card effects.)
Then activate the continuous spell card, Icy Cave
(Once per turn when a monster you control is destroyed by battle: the attacking monster cannot change it battle positions. Its effects are negated and its ATK and DEF become 0.)
And I summon Silver Fang. I will End my turn.

Hugh's Turn
Hugh: 8000 Alex: 8000

- Draw. (I need something to take down those spells, but the only thing in my hand that can help me is Diplo, but even so, he would be too weak for Silver Fang.) – Hugh thought. - I set two cards and summon Evoltile Lagosucho and activate its effect. When it’s summoned, I can send an Evolsaur from my deck to the grave so I send Evolsaur Diplo to the graveyard, then I’ll end my turn.

Alex's Turn
Hugh: 8000 Alex: 8000

- Draw. I activate the spell card, Sanctuary of Ice
(Select 2 Spells or Trap cards you control: During this turn, the selected cards cannot be destroyed by card effects.)
With this, I select my field Spell and my continuous Spell card to be protected. Now I activate Heavy Storm and next I summon Ice Knight – Kerla
(When this card is Normal Summon: You can reveal the top 3 cards of your deck; if 1 of them is an “Ice” monster: special summon it. And shuffle any non-“Ice” card(s) to the deck. Your opponent monster cannot be destroyed this turn.)
So here are the top cards; Mirror Force, Forbidden Ice Spell and Ice Wolf – The Protector
(When this card is Special Summoned by an “Ice” card effect: Increase the level of a monster by 1.) So I special summon Ice Wolf and activate its effect, increasing Silver Fang’s level from 3 to 4. Next I overlay my Level 4 Ice Knight, Ice Wolf and Silver Fang to Xyz summon,

Now I’ll attack Lagosucho.

- I activate the trap card “Exchange for a Reptile”
(When a Reptile monster is targeted as an Attack Target: banish this card from your graveyard, negate the attack and tribute the targeted reptile-type monster; Special Summon a reptile-type monster with the same level as the tribute monster. You take damage equal the tribute reptile-type monster ATK.) from my graveyard. So I tribute Lagosuchus and Special Summon Evoltile Cetlod.
(When this card is destroyed: you can banish this card from your graveyard; Special Summon an Evolsaur monster from your Graveyard.)

The giant warrior with a torn cape with a strong blue icy armor and a sharp sword, runs towards lagosucho, but before its mighty sword could pierce Hugh’s monster, Lagosucho disappears. But the damage from his trap made him to be pushed to the edge of the mountain.

- (This one was close, If I keep this up, I might fall… I can’t let that happen.) – Hugh thought.

- And with this I end my turn; it’s your move. – Alex said with a smirk on his face.
